Cryptocurrency-friendly web browser Brave has announced an impressive growth in every department in its ecosystem for 2020. The web browser revealed it has grown both in numbers of advertisers, browser users, as well as creators.

Brave said it has crossed another milestone in the number of monthly users for its web browser, stating that it has surpassed 25 million.

It shows steady growth in the number of monthly active users, having only reached the 20 million milestones in November last year.

The privacy-focused web browser also confirmed an impressive increase in the number of daily users of the browser from 3.8 million last year to 8.6 million currently.

A growing number of private-centric users

The global privacy movement is gaining ground in 2021, and many users are having lesser trust in Big Tech.

Brave seems to be the main benefactor of a growing number of users who value more privacy when browsing the internet.

Although the Brave browser also welcomes advertisers on its platform, it doesn’t enforce it on users. Those who opt to share their information with advertisers are rewarded with the BAT tokens.

With this significant increase in the number of active monthly users, it seems many users are favoring the exceptional features of the browser, which enables them to have secure browsing. Brave is built on the Basic Attention Token (BAT), and the token is also doing great in the market.

One of the most interesting features for many users is the ability of the Brave browser to blog ads and prevent websites from tracking users’ movements around the internet. On the other handle, other websites allow cookies and even offer to share user information with advertisers.

All-round growth for Brave

The tokens are also used to reward publishers and content creators through the browser’s customized wallet or exchanged for other cryptocurrencies.

Also, the number of verified content creators surpassed 1 million. These are the groups that have accepted to use the BAT token as advertising revenue for their work.

The BAT token now offers support to more than 2 million wallets and records more than 4.3 million monthly transactions. The browser has also witnessed a 28x growth in ad revenue since it was launched.

Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Brave Brendan Eich stated that the growing user base of the browser is evidence that many users want to “opt-out of the surveillance economy.”
