Global cinema chain AMC Entertainment has now started to accept Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), and other popular altcoins as a type of payment in its outlets after several months of anticipation.

Adam Aron, the CEO of AMC, confirmed the development on Twitter over the weekend.

Big newsflash! As promised, many new ways NOW to pay online at AMC.  We proudly now accept: drumroll, please… Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin. Also Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal. Incredibly, they already account for 14% of our total online transactions! Dogecoin next. pic.twitter.com/a7pqYBm7HB

Based on Aron, customers can now acquire tickets and several other AMC offerings with Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin, and Ethereum. He also said that Dogecoin (DOGE) would be next to being integrated.

AMC had previously announced its intentions to start accepting digital assets for purchases, according to official reports. It also said that consumers could buy gift cards loaded with DOGE.

In the meantime, Aron conducted a lengthy survey on Twitter to determine whether or not AMC should accept the other doge-themed altcoin, Shiba Inu (SHIB). The response that he got was quite positive.

TWITTER POLL #2: As you know, you can now purchase AMC gift cards using cryptocurrency, and our IT group is writing code so that soon we can accept online payments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Dogecoin among others. Should we strive to take Shiba Inu too?

AMC said that it would continue to look into SHIB as a payment option. Nevertheless, it was not featured in the earlier announcement that was made by the CEO.
